What Lies Beneath is a large-format, hand-painted original abstract painting that balances glowing colour with deep, dark contrasts. Horizontal bands of orange, rust and amber move through charcoal passages, while pale areas above and below give the composition space to breathe.

Fine vertical drips interrupt the layered bands, suggesting reflections, traces and hidden depths beneath the surface. The contrast between warm colour and dark tones gives the portrait-format canvas a dramatic presence, with subtle textures that reward a closer look.

Presented here as a sold portfolio work, What Lies Beneath offers inspiration for a striking focal point in a spacious modern living room, dining room or reading lounge. The lifestyle images are illustrative room mockups, not photographs of its collector’s home.
